NSW: Keep Anzac Day separate Priest

New South Wales RSL president RUSTY PRIEST has made an impassioned plea for Anzac Day
to remain a day set aside solely for the commemoration of those who had fought in wars.

Mr PRIEST -- before a crowd of several thousand in Sydney's Hyde Park war memorial
-- says he believes most Australians are against moves to have Anzac Day become Australia's
national day.

Mr PRIEST says he hopes younger Australians will ensure the day is forever protected.

And he says he's angry at renewed debate for Australia Day and Anzac Day to be merged.

Mr PRIEST'S comments were met with loud applause and cheers.
